The deal gives Carriker $7 million in guaranteed money. It was completed within the first two hours of the NFL free agency signing period Tuesday. Carriker will be returning for his third year with the Redskins. He had 5 1/2 sacks last season.
The St. Louis Rams have traded Carriker, a first-round pick in 2007 who's been held back by injuries, to the Washington Redskins for a late-round pick in the draft.|||||||
Carriker was the 13th overall pick in 2007 out of Nebraska. He missed last season with a shoulder injury. He will be reunited with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, a former Rams coach.
