Ross, a former New York No. 1 draft choice, played for the Giants from 2007-2011 and started in two Super Bowl victories. He played last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
A person with knowledge of the deals says Ross and halfback Ryan Torain have agreed to contracts with the New York Giants. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the Giants haven't announced the deals.|||||||
A first-round pick by New York in 2007, Ross signed with Jacksonville after the Giants won the Super Bowl in February 2012. The 30-year-old was cut by the Jaguars after last season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have given cornerback Aaron Ross permission to miss part of training camp to attend the Olympics and watch his wife run. Ross' wife, U.S. runner Sanya Richards-Ross, won gold in the 1,600-meter relay in 2004 and 2008 and captured bronze in the 400 meters in Beijing. But she is seeking her first individual Olympic gold medal.|||||||
Ross, who started 41 games over the last five seasons for the New York Giants, asked Jaguars general manager Gene Smith and new coach Mike Mularkey about attending the London Games before he signed with the franchise last month.
