The not-for-real Bengals will start finding ways to lose again this Sunday, when Vontaze Brurfict returns from his four-game suspension, and the Tennessee Titans, off back-to-back wins over Jacksonville and Philadelphia, appear to be interesting but require a deeper dive.
The Titans have gotten a number of fortunate bounces of the ball through Week Four — which is not to say they’re not a good football team — and a four-week stretch against Baltimore, the Chargers, Cowboys and Patriots sandwiched around a bye will tell us a lot more.
Baltimore convinced me this past Sunday night that it has the horses to win the AFC North, and the Jaguars just have too much talent not to get back to the playoffs.
So if I’ve got this right, all we know so far is the Rams, Chiefs, Jaguars and Ravens should be in the postseason, but only the Rams have really made a statement so far.
Am I forgetting anything?
Oh, of course, what about the Bears?
That defense is going to take them a long way, but whether Mitch Trubisky is going to win them playoff games, or the offense is still going to be in grammar school come January, remains to be seen.
