So this is it, my last best guess at what happens in the first round of the 2018 NFL College Draft.
I’ll say it one more time, none of these quarterbacks other than Baker Mayfield and Mason Rudolph should go this high. But they will and that’s going to leave tremendous value for clubs like the Broncos, Colts, Bucs and Bears.
I’ve only got one trade here between the Bills and the Browns but depending on what actually happens with the quarterbacks don’t be at all surprised if the Cardinals, Patriots and Saints to name a few are looking to move up while the Bears, 49ers, Dolphins and Packers could be happy to slide down a bit.
The players I fear the most in this draft beyond the QBs are Saquon Barkley, Denzel Ward, Mike McGlinchey and Calvin Ridley. I’m just not sure they are who we think they are – and I really think Rudolph, Sony Michel, Harold Landry and Will Hernandez will be tremendously under-valued.
But the time has come to stop the guessing, over-thinking and paralysis through analysis and put my name on my final mock.
I feel really good about anywhere from 25-to-30 of these kids going in the first round and close to where I have them, and I know a number of these clubs feel really good about the kids I’ve paired them with.
How many I’ve nailed we’ll see in less than a day.
