Quarterback Josh Allen, Wyoming
Heisman trophy winner Baker Mayfield is going to get the most attention from the media and fans, but quarterback Josh Allen from Wyoming might be the one player with the most to gain (or lose) during his week in Mobile. Allen has massive arm talent and he has the ability to make any throw on the field, but his play this season was underwhelming, to say the least.
He has great size at 6’5”, 230 pounds and he has shown that he can make plays with his feet as well. But he has now had back-to-back seasons in which he completed just 56 percent of his throws and failed to throw for 175 yards in seven of his 11 games this season. He threw for 300-yards just twice in his 27-game career at Wyoming. There are a ton of questions surrounding Allen, but with a few strong practices and interviews during the week, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him have a Carson Wentz-type rise after the Senior Bowl.
