The conference playoff field likely will include six teams that have at least some realistic shot of ending up in the Super Bowl. The Eagles’ chances certainly took a hit Sunday, and it opens the door for teams such as the Minnesota Vikings, Rams, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and others — even including the long-shot Green Bay Packers, who might get Aaron Rodgers back — to make a run here.
That’s how loaded it will be. But we can’t realistically eliminate the Eagles as contenders entirely, even as terrific as Wentz has played. They’re not as powerful Monday morning as they were 24 hours prior, but this is a team that has shown strength up and down the roster and might still have enough to make a run.
