Nonetheless, if I were Leno I’d definitely invest $5 or $10 in a Powerball ticket because his luck is clearly running hot right now.
All kidding aside, be happy for Leno, as he is one of the better kids in the Bears locker room – yep, he’s just 25 – and if he’s at all careful with his newfound riches he should never have to worry about money again.
With what we now know about the risks these guys are taking, we should all want to see every single one of them get every penny they can, and I couldn’t be happier for Leno.
That said, Leno has regularly jumped off the game tape as a Bear who clearly has a long way to go, explaining my belief he’s in a hot streak right now in the good fortune department and begging the question — why now?
First you have to understand the contract and the market at Leno’s position, because if he does become the player the Bears hope he will, he will probably be looking for a new deal in a year or two. (H. Rick Bamman - email@example.com)
