After doing six preliminary reports on the quarterback class for the 2018 NFL Draft, I thought that I would take a look at some of the other positions. First up, the offensive tackle class.
As all of you know, the offensive tackle class in the 2017 Draft was weak, with only two taken in the first round. In most Drafts, there are at least three offensive tackles taken before the fifteenth pick. In 2017, the first tackle didn’t come off the board until 20, and the second was the last pick of the first round. Clubs have to hope that 2018 will be better as far as both quantity and quality.
Going into the 2018 college football season, many draft analysts have Oklahoma left tackle Orlando Brown rated as the top tackle. After watching five games yesterday, I have to say that I’m disappointed after reading all the hype. If Brown is the top tackle, then the 2018 class will be as disappointing as the 2017 class was.
