Garcon played only eight games last season due to a neck injury but was on an 80-catch, 1,000-yard pace when he went down. Garcon is the favorite to be the No. 1 receiver for young 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who looked terrific last year in five late-season starts. Itís worth remembering that Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator in Washington in 2013, when Garcon had a career-high 113 receptions for 1,346 yards.
Garconís TD production has never been impressive. He didnít have a TD catch in any of his eight games last year, and heís scored 37 touchdowns in 140 career games. Heís never scored more than six touchdowns in a single season. Although Garcon hadnít missed a game since 2012 before last yearís injury, neck injuries are especially concerning. While Garcon was out late last year, 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin came on strong, and Goodwin could cut into Garconís target share in 2018. Garcon will turn 32 in August.
You can probably get a nice discount on Garcon after he missed half of last season with a neck injury. He isnít much of a TD scorer, but his reception and yardage totals should make him a useful asset, especially in PPR leagues.
