A fifth-round selection by the 49ers in the 2017 draft, Kittle turned in a strong rookie campaign with 43 catches for 515 yards and two touchdowns. He was second on the team in receiving yards and third in receptions. He saved his best for last, finishing the regular season with a four-catch, 100-yard performance at the Rams. Kittle caught at least one pass in every game in 2017.
The pecking order in the San Francisco passing game is still settling out. Teammate and fellow tight end Garrett Celek doubled Kittle’s TD total last season.
If the second half of 2017 is any indication, the 49ers are a team on the rise. Kittle has some limitations as a pass catcher, but if he remains the No. 1 tight in San Francisco, he could produce decent 2018 fantasy numbers.
