In 2016, Hopkins set a Washington franchise record by making 34 field goals. He finished third in the NFL in scoring that season behind only Bryant and Tucker. In his three seasons in Washington, he has made 54 of 73 (83.9 percent) of field goals and 93 of 98 (94.9 percent) extra points.
Hopkins suffered a partially torn hip muscle last season and was sidelined from Week Six through Week 14. He has converted less than half (5 of 13) of his attempts from 50-plus yards. He missed both attempts from beyond 50 in 2017.
It would appear that Hopkins recovered from his mid-2017 injury. He made five of his six FG attempts after returning. Alex Smith will be under center for Washington in 2018. How Smith fares will go a long way in determining Hopkins’ fantasy value. After missing a significant portion of 2017, Hopkins will likely go undrafted in many leagues. If Smith performs well in Washington, Hopkins will be a popular in-season pickup.
