An excellent athlete who played on both sides of the ball in high school and also suited up for the basketball team during his college career at SMU, Sutton tested well at the NFL Scouting Combine, and at 6-3 and 218 pounds he has an NFL-ready body. Sutton is a physical receiver who plays to his size, and he has decent speed for a bigger receiver. Over his final two college seasons he had 144 catches for 2,331 yards and 22 touchdowns. Sutton has been compared to Demaryius Thomas as a pro prospect, and now heíll get to learn directly from Thomas in Denver.
Sutton is considered an unrefined WR prospect who needs work on his route running and may need a couple of years before he approaches his full potential. Itís going to be hard for Sutton to make a meaningful contribution in his rookie season when the Broncos already have a top WR tandem in Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
Sutton is an intriguing prospect with an impressive physical tool chest, but it seems unlikely that heíll make much noise as a rookie on a team with a pair of veteran wideouts ahead of him on the depth chart.
