Strong Points: Instinctive. Quick to hole but patient. Sets up and follows blocks. Consistent decision-maker with the ball in his hands. Runs low and breaks tackles, generating yards after contact. Burst to break long runs. Willing pass blocker. Reliable receiver.
Weak Points: Durability -- missed more games than he played in college. Only had one healthy season (2017). Broke his leg in 2015, had a fractured vertebrae in his neck in 2016 and tore an ACL last year. Good (not great) long speed. Needs work on running pass routes.
The Way We See It: If healthy, Anderson is one of the better running backs in this draft. His problem is that he can't stay healthy. He missed all or parts of three seasons because of different injuries, the latest was an ACL that could cloud his availability picture. But he is a big, powerful inside runner with top run instincts, good hands and breakaway ability. Anderson has late first- or early second-round talent to come in and contribute immediately, but he will be a wild-card selection. He could go high or last until free agency, depending on the result of his medical. My grade is based on talent; I have no idea at this time where he will get drafted.
