Strong Points: Big with strong hands. Very productive (95 receptions). Large receiving radius. Will compete in traffic.
Weak Points: Speed -- Combine workout subpar for a wide receiver. Played in a conference that doesn't have strong defense. Only a possession receiver (can't get deep). Separated vs. Mountain West schools, but can he do it at the NFL level?
The Way We See It: A big possession receiver at a slightly lower level of competition, Johnson has the hands and knows how to find the seams at the college level but lacks the speed and quickness needed to do it consistently in the NFL. Johnson is tough and competitive and will compete in traffic, but he is just an average athlete. He struggles vs. press coverage, and I doubt he will be able to separate vs. NFL-caliber defensive backs. Johnson may get drafted because of his production, but his physical traits are very average.
