- Arm34 ¼
Strong Points: Very good size and length. Big hands. Always catches the ball in his hands. Competes in traffic. High points the ball. Fast for his size. Separates coming out of cuts. Run-after-catch skills. Prolific numbers in only season at Northwestern St.
Weak Points: Hasn't played a lot of football. Spent two seasons as a backup at LSU. Forced to sit out in 2017 as a transfer to get grades in order. Failed drug tests. Raw route runner. Undisciplined. Can he be trusted? Played at a lower level of competition.
The Way We See It: Ferguson is a very talented but troubled receiver. Highly recruited out of high school, he started out at LSU, where he never took things seriously and had academic issues and failed drug tests. He transferred to Northwestern St. in 2017 but had to sit out and get his grades up. He then played the entire season in 2018 and dominated vs. a lower level of comp (66 catches for 1,117 yards and 13 touchdowns). Ferguson is big, strong and athletic with good speed for his size. He has excellent hands and adjusts to make difficult grabs -- while competing in traffic. He's dangerous after the catch but raw in his routes and understanding the nuances of pattern running. He has upside, but can Ferguson be trusted to reach for it? He's a mid-round talent that will most likely get drafted later unless he proves to clubs he has matured. Ferguson will start if everything is in order.
