Strong Points: Speed and athleticism -- very quick off the ball. Good pursuit player.
Weak Points: Narrow frame. No strength. Block magnet. Production seems inflated. Ineffective hand use.
The Way We See It: Jelks is an exceptional athlete with a lot of speed, but he doesn't make any plays. He gets off the ball very quickly and, if unblocked, he can make a play. He struggles to shed and lacks strength and power. No matter who is doing the blocking -- tight ends, backs, linemen -- once they get their hands on Jelks, he stays blocked. He plays hard and flashes instincts, just no strength. He will need a year on the practice squad to get bigger and stronger, but he doesn't currently project to a 53-man roster. He'll get drafted because of his speed, quickness and what he can be if he gets stronger.
