Strong Points: Productive four-year starter who played well in the Washington offense. Fairly good mechanics. Good decision-maker with decently quick release. Accurate on shorter throws. Plays with poise. Shows he can go through a progression.
Weak Points: Didn't make the improvements some hoped he would after putting up big numbers early in his career. Very average arm strength. Accuracy falls off the farther downfield he throws. Not a threat to make or extend plays with his feet. Short for the position.
The Way We See It: Following the 2016 season, many expected big things from Browning, who threw for 3,430 yards and 43 touchdowns in his first two seasons. He played well within the Huskies system, where he gained a ton of experience, but the fact is, he is limited. He lacks arm talent, and though he is accurate on shorter throws, his precision wanes the more and more he attempts to stretch the field. Browning lacks upside and, at best, he is a practice squad QB at the next level. If he gets drafted, it will be late. His smarts, instincts and poise are pluses, not his physical talent.
