Strong Points

Huge man with exceptional natural strength. Very quick off the ball and consistently disruptive in the run game. Can come off the ball very low. Tough to block one-on-one. Has quick hands and knows how to use them. Can't be moved off the line of scrimmage. Surprisingly quick for such a big man. Gets a push with his pass rush.

Weak Points

Too heavy and lacks top stamina. Tires late in drives and games. He has short-area quickness, but Settle lacks speed. Not a top pursuit player.

The Way We See It

A third-year sophomore, Settle redshirted in 2015, played as a backup in '16 and became a starter in '17, a strong final season with 36 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. A huge, naturally strong man with very good quickness in confined areas. By controlling blockers with his strength and power, Settle is quite disruptive in the run game. He has the talent to be a very good run-down defender in the NFL, but Settle needs to get in better shape and redistribute his weight. If he can get to a solid 330 pounds, he can become an NFL force on run downs. Has some interior pass-rush talent but won't be used much that way once he gets to the league. Will be a 3-4 nose who perhaps earns some play time at the 5-technique. Has upside if he does the right things.
