Strong Points: Good size to go along with good athleticism for the position. Has the feet and agility to extend plays. Above-average runner. Flashes the ability to take over a game. Has a strong arm and at times shows pinpoint accuracy. Seems to have good leadership skills.
Weak Points: Did not play as well in 2017 as he did in 2016. Very inconsistent from game to game. Turns the ball over too often (interceptions and fumbles). Inconsistent with his reads and decision making. Has a slight side-arm delivery and a long throwing motion
The Way We See It: A third-year sophomore with two years of college eligibility left. Started the past two seasons. Should have stayed in school. There is no question he has talent and can develop into a solid NFL quarterback, but is he ready for the rigors of the league now? Had a very inconsistent 2017 season, looking outstanding one game and very average the next. Because so many NFL clubs have a need at quarterback, he will go high, but that does not mean he'll have success at the next level. Needs to get with the right team and be able to work with top coaches to fix his release problems and help him develop. If that doesn't happen, he could bust. Really a hit-or-miss player, and if he doesn't hit, it will cost people their jobs.
