Strong Points: Tall with length. Very good athlete with a quick get-off. Has upper- and lower-body flexibility, allowing him to bend and get under opponents. Good hand use. Flashes dominating pass rush skills. Has a good closing burst to QB. Quick to key and diagnose; finds ball. Shows he can drop into coverage and play well in zone.

Weak Points: Production fell off in 2017. Had some injury issues, but Key, many evaluators think, was protecting himself for the NFL. I don't see down-to-down, game-to-game consistency. Needs to add strength and bulk to play at next level. Can be slow off blocks and get overpowered in run game. Did not play in LSU Bowl game.

The Way We See It: Underclassman is as talented a pass rusher as you will find in this draft, but he has some issues. Played much of 2017 like he was protecting himself and milking injuries. Tall and lean with long arms. Excellent get-off and can beat opponent with his first step and flexibility. Great ability to close. Better pass rusher than run defender. In run game, he can get tied to blocks. Has experience dropping into coverage and playing in zone. Good pursuit player and tackler. Will get drafted high because of pass rush talent but needs to get bigger and stronger. An even bigger issue is whether a club can trust him. Has hit or miss to him because of the way he played in his final season. Will go high because of traits, but Key is certainly no sure shot NFL player.
