Those tuning into the late Monday Night Football game featuring the Chiefs and Chargers will be listening to the vocal stylings of ESPN's Brad Nessler and Trent Dilfer, the network announced today.

I am curious to hear how the pair works out. Wasn't always a big fan of how the trio ESPN previously trotted out there (typically Mike Greenberg, Mike Golic and a third person … memory failing me … was it Steve Young last year? Mike Ditka?), and I always have liked Nessler, who for a short stretch was considered one of the rock-star announcers in college football but appears to have seen his star fade for some unknown reasons.

Dilfer … I am typically not the biggest fan of his, either. But he usually says something, which is nice.

Anyway, it's Week One, and no matter who the announcer is, I'll watch. But I think this duo could be decent.
