After the Tim Tebow and Dez Bryant hype settled at the end of the first round last night, there came this question for many fans:
Whither Sergio Kindle?
Many were shocked when he tumbled out of Round One, but it appears there is a medical red flag — and a big one — that has talent evaluators scared away.
Here's what longtime Longhorns writer Chip Brown has had to say on the matter, that Kindle might need microfracture surgery (we're linking to PFW friend Ian Rapoport's blog here), which is a major concern. That means it's a bone-on-bone situation, that the cartilage has broken down completely. This is not good news for any players, but certainly not for a defensive lineman/outside linebacker type.
You'd have to think this is the reason. Watching him limp through his Pro Day workout was a concern, but few knew what it meant at the time.
We'll have to see where Kindle lands in light of this potetially bad news.
