Likely knowing that the Ravens would take TE Rob Gronkowski at 43, the Patriots appeared to slide up two picks to snag the talented tight end.

But it was confusing until Roger Goodell straightened things out.

The Raiders' pick clock had run out, and no trade details were given at the time.

It was about four minutes of mayhem before Gronkowski came out with a Pats helmet in his hand and a lid on his head. He looked fired up.

There has been chatter that he's a bit immature, but Gronkowski is a super-talented, all-around tight end who would have been a first-round pick had he played last year.

The back injury that caused him to miss the season is a concern, absolutely. My girlfriend, a doctor, once told me: Don't have back surgery. Ever. I listen to her because she's smart.

But if Gronkowski can overcome some immaturity issues and learn how to be a pro, he could be a steal here.

Very, very interesting pick.

And of course, the Ravens, always conscious of value, scooped up a sliding Sergio Kindle.
