INDIANAPOLIS — Rams GM Billy Devaney chose an interesting phrase while knocking down rumors that he was interested in trading RB Steven Jackson.
"We need more players like Steven Jackson," he said Friday at the Combine. "We can't be poop-canning them out of the building. You know what I mean? We have to get more guys like that (on our team). There's no talk about trading Steven Jackson and there won't be any."
Devaney also responded to reports that the Rams are interested in trading for Eagles backup QB Michael Vick.
"We haven't talked to the Eagles about any of their players," he said. "This has come up a lot in St. Louis and I have to stick to that. I can't talk about Mike Vick (just like I can't) talk about Drew Brees or Tom Brady or anybody (who is under contract with a different team). He's a member of the Eagles and he's under contract with the Eagles, but I can tell you this — we have not talked to Philadelphia about any of their guys."
