The Eagles are 14-point favorites at Oakland on Sunday, and at first glance, that seems about right.
The number couldn't be much lower, could it?
Look, if you have watched the Raiders the last three weeks, much less bet on them (I have not, though I did pick them to cover in Weeks Four and Five in PFW's print edition), you know they are struggling to get anything going offensively. Any deficit the Raiders face feels like double that amount. When they fell behind early vs. the Giants on Sunday, I knew things would get worse, not better, for now Oakland was going to have to throw.
And that is not pretty.
You have to wonder if the Eagles-Raiders line goes even higher by Sunday. One major online sportsbook already has the Eagles favored by 14½, per a scan of VegasInsider.com's odds board. Chad Millman at ESPN Insider (paid subscription required) quoted Hilton oddsmaker Jay Kornegay as estimating that 10 times as many tickets will be written on the Eagles as compared to the Raiders at his sportsbook.
