I am all for taunting penalties, but when they are warranted, please.

49ers CB Shawnte Spencer made a great play on Vikings WR Bernard Berrian to knock a ball loose, and Spencer did the incomplete sign afterward.

At no point did he lean over Berrian on the ground or even face in his direction. Bad, bad call.

The 49ers held serve and forced a FG attempt (actually, Nate Clements should have had a pick on the third-down play), but it should have been a punt had the bad call not been made.
