Pro Football Weekly's Eric Edholm brings you hot news and the inside scoop about the NFL.
A.J. Trapasso, a backup rookie punter on the Titans who has absolutely no chance of beating out a healthy Craig Hentrich (unless that back acts up again), had a very interesting pro debut Sunday.
First, the Ohio State grad looked positively Steve Bellisari-esque in executing a fake punt, rushing 40 yards for a score.
Then, at the end of the game, he intentionally ran 34 yards backwards to take a safety. That gave him a stat line of:
| Rushes | Yards | Avg. | Long | TD |
| 2 | 6 | 3.0 | 40 | 1 |
In between, he punted pretty well. But check out that crazy line again. Coolest thing I have seen since Jerome Bettis' 5-1-0.2-1T-3 line from Week One against the Raiders in 2004.
Anyway, nice little story from the Hall of Fame game. Maybe the kid can latch on elsewhere if the Titans thing doesn't work out.
