Could Michael Vick join the Patriots? Don't go out and buy your No. 7 jerseys just yet -- unless you really like Matt Gutierrez.

I am just a tad suspicious of this story about the Patriots working out Michael Vick today because (a) there were several reports that Vick was in bankruptcy court this morning in Virginia and (b) the "very reliable source" the writer sources probably isn't coming from inside the organization.

The Patriots are as secretive a club as there is, and this kind of info just doesn't come out of New England too often unless there's a reason for it. And considering that Bill Belichick was evasive with the media about the team's interest in Vick, I doubt he would allow any Vick workout info to be leaked out to others.

That said, Vick could be in court at 9 in the morning and hit the practice field by 3 p.m. — Newport News to Boston is no more than a 90-minute flight from what I remember.

Let's just say there is some truth to it … would it work? Where would Vick fit in with the Pats?
