This just in: The Patriots know how to manipulate this draft thing. They now have three third-rounders -- theirs, the Jaguars' and the Titans' -- in what should be a strong draft in 2010.

But the Jaguars might have reached on a player who was not well known a few weeks ago but shot up draft boards with a great 40-yard dash time. And who am I to call out the Jags, who have had success finding out-of-the-way DB talent in the draft?

I just feel like Derek Cox might have been available further down in the draft, and giving up next year's second-rounder to get a player from William & Mary -- yes, I know Darren Sharper (and Mike Tomlin) came from there.
