The story of Draft Day for the Browns will be that they traded down multiple times in Round One, but don't overlook what they did in the second round. Needing to give their receiving corps a big boost, Cleveland used two of their three second-rounders to grab polished wideouts who stayed in college through their senior year.
By adding Ohio State's Brian Robiskie and Georgia's Mohamed Massaquoi, Cleveland all of a sudden has a group of receivers that doesn't look so pathetic. After Donté Stallworth's tumultuous offseason, Braylon Edwards needed a lot of help outside, and he got some on Saturday. Even though Robiskie and Massaquoi might never turn out to be superstars, they each can come in and contribute right away, helping take some of the pressure off of Edwards and either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn.
Overall, it had to be considered a productive first day for new Browns head coach Eric Mangini and GM George Kokinis. They certainly brightened the future of their club by doubling their number of draft picks while also grabbing some quality players. Cleveland won't be contenders this season, but things don't look as bleak as they did days ago.
