I’m back in Blogville, brothers and sisters! At least I hope I am. Yesterday was NOT a good day for yours truly. I actually tried to send a couple of blogs bright and early Thursday, but computer problems stopped me dead in my tracks. It was one of a number of annoying distractions I was forced to deal with, and with the deadlines for all my other assignments closing in on me, my blogs just had to take a backseat.

But hopefully, I will be able to make up for lost time the rest of this afternoon before leaving for Sarasota later today to spend some time visiting relatives and – tomorrow morning – losing lots of golf balls in a quick 18-hole round with my cousin.

Let’s start with the absolutely outstanding dinner PFW’s party of six had Wednesday evening at Donatello’s, a first-class restaurant specializing in Northern Italian food and catering to high rollers in the world of pro football. In addition to having maybe the best veal shank I’ve ever eaten, we were surrounded by a Who’s Who list of movers and shakers that included Lynn Swann, Norv Turner, Michael Strahan, Jay Glazer, Tony Gonzalez and probably a lot of other heavy hitters who I just lost track of after my first martini kicked in. It was an excellent midweek diversion from my computer, which I came very close to throwing out of my fourth-floor hotel window the next morning.

More on that in a few minutes. I’m sure you can hardly wait.
