Good teams aren't necessarily good teams to bet on.
The Indianapolis Colts have been an exception this rule in recent seasons.
In the last five years, the Colts are 43-31-2 against the spread when favored, an impressive 58.1 percent success rate. In each of those seasons, a flat bet on Indianapolis every time they played the favorite's role would have yielded a profit. Also impressive: The Colts have been favored by at least 3½ points in 65 of those 76 games — and covered a 54.8 percent clip when laying more than a field goal.
It's another metric that shows how spectacular, and steady, the Colts have been for most of this decade.
