In the last 10 seasons, the Jets' opening game has gone Over the total seven times. The Jets' last five seasons that ended with trips to the playoffs began with games that went Over. The two openers that stand out came in 2002 (when the Jets won 37-31 in OT in Buffalo on a Chad Morton kickoff return for a TD, his second of the game) and 1998 (a 36-30 loss at San Francisco on a 96-yard Garrison Hearst TD run).
