That's the jump that Michael Allan is trying to make. Allan is a tight end from Whitworth College, a Presbyterian school of 2,400 students located in Spokane, Wash. Allan stands a good chance of being drafted on the second day, perhaps as early as Round Five. In a TE class that lacks depth and quality, Allan is a somewhat intriguing prospect.

So how does a 6-6, 252-pound tight end who's athletic enough to rack up 20.8 yards per catch as a senior end up at Whitworth? Well, Allan says he was 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds coming out of high school, and he ran the 40-yard dash in the 5.0 range. He's shaved a couple tenths off that time since — he's been clocked at 4.76 — and he's bulked up.

Can Allan play? We'll find out, but he's come a long way nonetheless.
