 After three uninspiring years in Jacksonville, WR Matt Jones was a very realistic bet to be cut in training camp. Following his felony arrest on cocaine possession charges, he all but sealed his fate. In the words of one team source we talked to, it would be “shocking” to see him in a Jags uniform in 2008.

 The way we hear it, the feeling is that Texans rookie RB Steve Slaton has an uphill battle to get significant carries as a rookie, given the presence of veterans Ahman Green, Chris Brown and Chris Taylor.

 With Texans WLB Morlon Greenwood such an important part of the defense, expect speedy rookie Xavier Adibi’s biggest impact to come on special teams in Year One.
