We expect several trades to occur in the top 10. Among the players being shopped include Jaguars OT Maurice Williams, New York Jets WR Justin McCareins, Tennessee CB Andre Woolfolk, Kansas City DE Eric Hicks, Tampa Bay DT Ellis Wyms and CB Brian Kelly, Buffalo DT Tim Anderson, Bears DE Alex Brown, Seahawks WR Darrell Jackson, Miami WR Marty Booker, Eagles LB Dhani Jones and Chargers RB Michael Turner, who is expected to land in Tennessee at some point during the draft. Many other players have been sought, including Randy Moss, but it does not appear he or Lance Briggs will be dealt.
Trade activity being explored or expected to occur is denoted by arrows up or down. Juniors are denoted by asterisks.
1. Oakland Raiders — QB JaMarcus Russell, LSU*
Al Davis made up his mind many months ago.
2. Detroit Lions — WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech*
A leverage pick the Lions are willing to live with but very likely will move.
3. Cleveland Browns — OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin
Finalized decision Friday and finally will upgrade their line.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — DE Gaines Adams, Clemson
Adams can be expected to land in Detroit, with a trade potentially coming on the clock, but the Lions do not want to move down very far and risk losing Adams.
5. Arizona Cardinals — OT Levi Brown, Penn State
Brown fills a more pressing need than Adrian Peterson, with OT Leonard Davis having departed Arizona.
6. Washington Redskins — FS LaRon Landry, LSU
The Adam Archuleta experiment did not work.
7. Minnesota Vikings — RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma*
Leon Hall is the choice if Peterson is gone.
8. Atlanta Falcons (from Houston) — DE Jamaal Anderson, Arkansas*
Could look to move up for Calvin Johnson or move down, but Anderson fills pressing need.
9. Miami Dolphins — QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame
Will sit tight with draft’s best future pro falling into their laps.
10. Houston Texans (from Atlanta) — CB Darrelle Revis, Pittsburgh*
Trade down with Denver looms, but if the Texans have to stay put, Revis fills a pressing need and brings added value in the return game.
11. San Francisco 49ers — LB Patrick Willis, Mississippi
May have to bid with Houston to land Willis.
12. Buffalo Bills — RB Marshawn Lynch, California*
Finding the next Thurman Thomas is a priority to Ralph Wilson, so much that it's worth overlooking some other concerns.
13. St. Louis Rams — DL Adam Carriker, Nebraska
Rams want to get bigger and faster in the trenches, and coaches have fallen in love with Carriker.
14. Carolina Panthers — WR Dwayne Bowe, LSU
Will be looking to trade back with Anderson long gone, but settle for solid complementary receiver to Steve Smith.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers — CB Leon Hall, Michigan
Luck always seems to land in the Steelers’ favor, and one of the draft’s top two corners falls to them. Have considered moving up to land one of them.
16. Green Bay Packers — WR Robert Meachem, Tennessee*
Both a big need and a quality pick to help Brett Favre.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars — FS Reggie Nelson, Florida*
18. Cincinnati Bengals — LB Jon Beason, Miami (Fla.)*
19. Tennessee Titans — WR Ted Ginn Jr., Ohio State*
20. New York Giants — DT Amobi Okoye, Louisville
21. Denver Broncos — OT Joe Staley, Central Michigan
22. Dallas Cowboys — CB Aaron Ross, Texas
23. Kansas City Chiefs — DT Justin Harrell, Tennessee
24. New England Patriots (from Seattle) — LB David Harris, Michigan
25. New York Jets — WR Anthony Gonzalez, Ohio State*
26. Philadelphia Eagles — FS Brandon Meriweather, Miami (Fla.)
27. New Orleans Saints — OG Ben Grubbs, Auburn
28. New England Patriots — S Michael Griffin, Texas
29. Baltimore Ravens — DT Alan Branch, Michigan*
30. San Diego Chargers — LB Lawrence Timmons, Florida State*
31. Chicago Bears — TE Greg Olsen, Miami (Fla.)*
32. Indianapolis Colts — LB Paul Posluszny, Penn State
55. Seattle Seahawks — OG Marshall Yanda, Iowa
