The Rams helped shore up their secondary on Sunday, agreeing to terms with ex-Bears CB Ricky Manning Jr. and claiming ex-Colts S Brannon Condren on waivers.
Manning Jr., 27, is a five-year NFL veteran who was cut by the Bears on Aug. 26. He is best suited as a nickel corner and is known for his playmaking skills, with 14 interceptions in 79 career regular-season games.
Condren, a fourth-round draft pick in 2007 by the Colts, played in eight games as a rookie. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the Rams released TE Richard Owens.
Manning isn't expected to sign his contract until Monday, so the Rams don't have to make another roster move until that time.
