One day after ending a 27-day contract holdout, Rams RB Steven Jackson signed a new six-year deal Thursday. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the deal could be worth up to a little less than $44 million, but with the final two years likely to be voided out based on performance, Jackson signed what would amount to a four-year deal worth a little less than $30 million.
The Dispatch also reported the deal would include a little more than $20 million in guaranteed money, $11 million of which would be in the form of a signing bonus.
"It did work out," Jackson said of his new contract in an interview Thursday at Rams Park. "No one side gets 100 percent of what they would like to happen. Me and my agent, Mr. (Eugene) Parker, are happy. … No one person attacked each other publicly. I still feel the same way about this organization as I did last year, last game of the season.
"I'm just glad to still be a part of it, and I have faith that I will retire as a Ram."
