Jackson to finally end holdout

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday afternoon that Rams RB Steven Jackson is ending his contract holdout and was expected to be at the team's facility this evening and on the field for practice Friday.
The report also indicated that a new deal for Jackson was expected to be reached soon. All told, Jackson, who is expected to be the centerpiece in new coordinator Al Saunders' revamped offense, will have missed 27 days of practice, resulting in $408,132 in fines.
There have been reports that Jackson has been working out on his own, but daily team observers believe it could take awhile before he's ready to handle the 30-carry workload that was the ideal plan for him going into Week One.
