The Seahawks have agreed to terms with FB Owen Schmitt, their fifth-round draft pick out of West Virginia, with an official announcement expected either today or tomorrow.

With Schmitt agreeing to a reported four-year deal, the Seahawks have reached terms with four of their drafted rookies. Sixth-round LS Tyler Schmitt, seventh-round RB Justin Forsett and seventh-round PK Brandon Coutu have also signed on the dotted line, with three unsigned rookies remaining — first-round DE Lawrence Jackson, second-round TE John Carlson and fourth-round DT Red Bryant.

Selected by the Seahawks with a pick obtained from the Cowboys, Owen Schmitt's collegiate claim to fame was the 11 facemasks he reportedly shattered during his career at West Virginia. It remains to be seen just how he will fit into a suddenly very crowded backfield that also now includes fellow newcomers Forsett and free-agent additions Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett.
