Seahawks Morris, Burleson suffer injuries
By PFW staff
Sept. 7, 2008
Already hurting without the services of WRs Deion Branch, Bobby Engram and Ben Obomanu (who was placed on injured reserve), Seattle's offense continued to get bitten by the injury bug in their season opener in Buffalo Sunday, losing both RB Maurice Morris and WR Nate Burleson with injuries.
Morris went down shortly after making an impressive 17-yard run to the outside. Burleson, who had earlier caught a TD pass, stumbled to the turf without getting hit while attempting to make a catch. With Burleson apparently out of the mix, the Seahawks were forced to finish the game with an extremely inexperienced WR corps.
It's possible that Branch, who has been recovering from offseason knee surgery, could see some action next Sunday in Seattle's home opener against the division-rival 49ers.
