Former NFL offensive lineman Jesse Sapolu, who spent his entire career with the 49ers (1983-97) as a center and guard, will be inducted along with five other distinguished native Hawaiians July 22 into the Governors' Hall of Fame.
One of six 49ers who has four Super Bowl rings, Sapolu already has received the highest honor in two other preeminent Hawaii organizations — induction into the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame 10 years ago and the University of Hawaii Hall of Honor six years ago.
The 47-year-old Sapolu currently serves as the 49ers' alumni community relations coordinator. He has worked with the Niners for the past 10 years.
