The Cardinals announced Tuesday afternoon that they had reached a contract agreement with third-round WR Early Doucet, who was selected with the 81st overall pick in April's draft.

Doucet, who is out of LSU, is expected to compete for the No. 3 WR spot with second-year pro Steve Breaston. Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin remain entrenched as the Cardinals' top two receiving targets.

In Pro Football Weekly's 2008 Draft Preview, draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote of Doucet: "Has the size, toughness and instincts to be a factor after the catch, but is at his best when he is surrounded by a lot of receiving talent and not asked to be a game-changer. Never distinguished himself as a returner."
