Warner starting final preseason game

By PFW staff
Aug. 27, 2008

Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt announced on Wednesday that QB Kurt Warner will be the starter in Arizona's preseason finale against the Broncos on Friday.

Warner has gotten far fewer snaps with the first team that Matt Leinart, who was named the starter going into training camp. However, Leinart’s poor performance in the preseason has led to speculation that Warner would be the starter in the season opener against Miami on Sept. 7.

Whisenhunt has vehemently denied those rumors and reiterated that this does not mean that Warner is the team's starting QB, just that he would like to see how Warner performs with the first team.
