Cardinals sign second-rounder Campbell

And then there was one.
The Cardinals announced Monday afternoon that they had signed their 2008 second-round draft pick, University of Miami (Fla.) DE Calais Campbell, to a four-year contract. That leaves only one Arizona rookie, first-round CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, unsigned with the team's training camp set to open Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A two-year starter at Miami, the 6-8, 282-pound Campbell, registered 50 tackles, six sacks, 19 QB pressures, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and an interception in his final collegiate season. He and fellow rookie Kenny Iwebema will be counted on to add badly needed depth on a Cardinals D-line that wore down noticeably late in the '07 season.
The Cardinals also announced that they had released veteran DE Bo Schobel. Schobel appeared in two games last season after signing with the team Nov. 13.
