Four down and three to go.
One day after reaching terms with seventh-round rookie OT Brandon Keith, the Cardinals got sixth-round LB Chris Harrington’s name on the dotted line, signing him Thursday afternoon to a three-year contract. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
With the signing of Keith, an All-Big 12 second-team selection as a senior at Texas A&M in 2007, the Cardinals now have three drafted rookies remaining unsigned — first-round CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, second-round DE Calais Campbell and third-round WR Early Doucet.
Harrington, a native of Houston, Texas, finished his collegiate career with 156 tackles, 15 sacks and 25 stops behind the line of scrimmage as a defensive end for the Aggies.
Pro Football Weekly draft expert Nolan Nawrocki offered this summary on Harrington in his 2008 Draft Preview: “Dependable, self-made overachiever with enough athleticism and agility to develop into a solid pro. Intelligence, intensity and high effort are all positives and could win the hearts of throwback, old-school coaches.”
