Cardinals sign rookie Keith

The Cardinals took care of some business on the rookie contract front Wednesday when they signed seventh-round OT Brandon Keith to a three-year contract. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Keith became the third member of the Cardinals’ 2008 draft class to agree to contract terms, joining fourth-round DE Kenny Iwebema and fifth-round RB Tim Hightower.
The Cardinals hope the 6-5, 343-pound Northern Iowa product can provide badly needed depth at one of the team’s thinnest positions. They also hope Keith can keep his nose clean after pleading guilty last week to charges of rioting and interfering with an official in an incident in Iowa that resulted in him getting tasered.
Keith was put on one-year probation and could be subject to punishment from the NFL.
“Sometimes a guy’s (rocky) background can be good in a way,” Cardinals offensive line coach Russ Grimm told the Cardinals’ team website. “They know the leash is getting shorter and shorter every time.”
