Panthers reach accord with rookie RB Stewart

The Panthers signed first-round RB Jonathan Stewart early Saturday to a five-year contract worth approximately $20 million, with $10.8 million in guaranteed money. Carolina now has all of its draft picks under contract.
During practice Saturday, Panthers LB Thomas Davis welcomed Stewart to the NFL, knocking the rookie on his back with a jarring hit.
Stewart is expected to battle DeAngelo Williams for the team’s starting RB job.
