The Panthers signed WR Samie Parker on Tuesday.

Parker, who was with the Chiefs from 2004-07, was released by the Broncos Monday after spending the offseason and training camp with the team.

Carolina is desperate for help at receiver because of a slew of injuries and the looming two-game suspension of Steve Smith. The Panthers placed Jason Carter, who thrived in camp, on injured reserve Monday and D.J. Hackett and Ryne Robinson are both out with injuries.

Parker could see time as a kick returner, as well.
