Panthers release DT Scott

The Panthers released veteran Ian Scott on Wednesday after agreeing to an injury settlement with the backup defensive tackle.
Scott suffered a knee injury early in training camp and it kept him out of most preseason action. He has not played in a game since he was with the Bears in 2006.
Scott was penciled in as the Carolina’s fourth defensive tackle. He will be replaced on the depth chart by backup Gary Gibson.
